Position Overview
A warm San Francisco family is seeking a capable and steady temporary nanny or family assistant to support their household while mom recovers from surgery. This is a 6 to 8 week temporary position. The role is ideal for someone calm, positive, and highly proactive. The right candidate will step in as an extra set of hands and help keep the home running smoothly during a recovery period.
The primary focus will be supporting two school-aged boys, ages 12 and 11, while also assisting with light household needs. This position is less about intensive childcare and more about structure, organization, and ensuring the day flows well. Surgery is scheduled soon, so the family is hoping to secure support quickly.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
10:30am to 6:30pm
Responsibilities
Child Support
• School pick-up up to twice per week, less than a 10-minute drive
• After-school supervision and check-ins
• Ensuring hand washing, healthy snacks, and homework completion
• Keeping afternoons structured and positive
Household Support
• Preparing and serving family dinners between 5:30pm and 6:00pm
• Loading and unloading dishwasher
• Washing, folding, and putting away laundry
• Packing lunches as needed
• Light errands or grocery pickup
• Maintaining tidy shared spaces
Recovery Support
• Bringing lunch, water, or juice upstairs during the first week of recovery
• Assisting with small tasks that require lifting or reaching
• Helping maintain a calm and steady home environment
Mom will not be able to lift heavy items or fully use her arms during recovery, so the nanny should feel comfortable stepping in where needed.
