Full-Time Infant Nanny | Inner Sunset, San Francisco

Full-Time Infant Nanny | Inner Sunset, San Francisco
Late August Start | 45 Hours/Week | Long-Term Opportunity

Position Overview

A warm, thoughtful family in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their 7 month old son. This is a long-term role for an experienced caregiver who brings a calm, attentive, and health-conscious approach to care and is looking to grow with a family over time.

The baby was born prematurely and spent time in the NICU. He is fully healthy now, but illness awareness, an illness prevention mindset, and clear communication are essential during his first year of life due to a still-developing immune system. Both parents are engaged, communicative, and value partnership, consistency, and professionalism in their caregiver.

Schedule

  • Hours: 45 hours/week

    • Ideal schedule options include: 8:00am–5:00pm, 8:30am–5:30pm, or 9:00am–6:00pm

  • Start Date:  Late August, but earlier possible

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care

  • Maintain and follow the baby’s established feeding and nap routine

  • Support tummy time, age-appropriate play and learning, and outdoor walks

  • Prepare and clean bottles

  • Prepare and clean age-appropriate solid foods

  • Child-related tidying (nursery, play areas, bottles/feeding etc)

  • Child’s laundry as needed

  • Willingness to travel occasionally would be a nice bonus, but is not required

Health & Safety Expectations

Because the baby is immunocompromised, the family is seeking a nanny who:

  • Has a strong understanding of illness transmission and prevention

  • Is comfortable with clear sick policies and proactive communication

  • Is cautious about exposures, especially after travel or illness

  • Is open to masking/testing conversations when appropriate

  • Is up to date on vaccines, including COVID, flu, and Tdap This family approaches health policies with flexibility, respect, and transparency and values a caregiver who does the same.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Calm, observant, and emotionally attuned

  • TrustLine certified in California or willing to become certified

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain prior to start

  • Proactive and confident, especially with first-time parents

  • Comfortable working alongside parents who occasionally work from home (in separate quarters)

  • Health-conscious, communicative, and reliable

  • Long-term mindset and interest in growing with the family

Compensation & Benefits

  • $40-45/hour DOE

  • Guaranteed hours (45/week)

  • Paid Time Off: 10 days total (1 week family-chosen, 1 week nanny-chosen)

  • Paid Sick Time:  In accordance with California law. Due to a medically sensitive child, there may be times the nanny is asked to stay home out of an abundance of caution; the family will approach additional sick time with flexibility, understanding, and clear communication.

  • Paid Federal Holidays

  • Health Insurance Stipend

  • W-2 position

Long-Term Fit

This is intended to be a long-term position, ideally lasting several years. The family deeply values expertise, honesty, and collaboration and is excited to welcome a nanny who will become an important part of the baby' s life.

If you are an experienced infant nanny who brings warmth, confidence, and care especially around health and early development this is a wonderful opportunity to work with an appreciative, thoughtful family in the Inner Sunset!
