Position Overview
A warm, active, and highly involved family in Peninsula is seeking two rotational nannies to join their long-standing childcare team. This is a 7 days on, 7 days off role supporting three school-aged children in a dynamic, well-supported household with a strong team-oriented culture. This position is ideal for a high-energy, capable caregiver who enjoys being hands-on with children, thrives in a structured yet flexible environment, and brings a calm, confident presence when it comes to boundaries. The family values connection, consistency, and fun, while also needing someone who can help children stay regulated, focused, and supported throughout busy days. This is a live-out position.
Children
Three children: 13, 11 and 8
Primary focus is supporting the two younger children, with occasional driving or light assistance for the eldest
All three children are compassionate, bright and spirited individuals that benefit from predictable routines, clear expectations, and attentive, thoughtful care
Children are capable and largely self-directed, and do best with an engaged adult nearby to help set the tone and support transitions
Schedule
Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off
Typical weekday hours: approximately 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Typical weekend hours: approximately 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Flexibility is key during each 7-day on rotation
Start and end times may shift earlier or later, and occasional split shifts may occur
The family guarantees a minimum of 8 paid hours per day during on-weeks, with most days running at maximum 12 hours; all hours worked beyond 8 are paid hourly including overtime in accordance with California law. Occasional schedule adjustments may occur due to school closures, sick days, appointments, work demands, or travel.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, engaged childcare during scheduled workdays
Support daily routines, transitions, and activities
Create a calm, focused environment during homework and tutoring time and sit with children as needed
Light homework help is a bonus
Prepare snacks and light meals for children
Unpack backpacks and lunch boxes and help reset daily spaces
Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities using a family-provided vehicle
Tidy children’s spaces and shared areas used during the day
Pack and unpack children’s belongings for family travel
Feed the family’s small dog and outdoor bunny when primary staff is off, following simple routines
Communicate closely with parents and household staff
Support consistent expectations around screen time and routines as set by the parents
Be a reliable, collaborative presence within a multi-staff household
Travel
Travel is required during school breaks and holidays
Regular trips to family homes out of state
Extended summer travel of approximately six weeks in France, which you would continue your rotational shift
Housing provided during travel
Valid passport required
Familiarity with international is a plus but not required

Must be TrustLine certified in California
At this time, the family is focusing on candidates who are already local to the Bay Area / Peninsula region
Compensation and Benefits
$40–$50/hour DOE. Guaranteed minimum pay during on-weeks, with overtime paid per California law. Competitive total annual earnings based on schedule and travel.
