A warm, busy family in San Francisco's Marina District is seeking an experienced, energetic live-in ROTA nanny to join their childcare team on a week-on, week-off rotation. You will care for their two children, ages 4.5 and 6, who are both in school full time.
Both parents have demanding careers and sometimes travel for work, never at the same time. During your on week, you are the children's go-to adult from wake-up to bedtime: getting everyone up and out the door in the morning, keeping their world organized while they are at school, and bringing calm, fun structure to afternoons, dinner and bedtime. At the end of your week, you pass the baton to your rotation partner, who has been with the family for four years, and head home for a full week off.
This role is ideal for a seasoned career nanny who loves school-aged children, takes ownership of the whole day, and values real time off.
What You'll Do
Run the full morning routine: waking the children, brushing teeth, getting dressed, breakfast and getting to school
Make the children's beds, do their laundry, and tidy and organize as needed during school hours
Enjoy your free time once the day's tasks are done, whether that is coffee with a friend or a workout class
Oversee school projects after school
Take the children to after-school activities and organize playdates
Lead dinner time, bath time and bedtime routines
Serve as the adult on call overnight during your on week if a child wakes up
Hand off smoothly to your rotation partner at the end of each week
Schedule
Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off
On-week hours: approximately 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM, on duty for all waking hours
Overnight: you are the adult on call if a child wakes during the night
Live-in during your on week, all seven nights preferred, with some flexibility
Target start date: As soon as possible, flexible for the right fit
What We're Looking For
At least seven years of full-time professional childcare experience
Energetic, warm and confident running a full day for two school-aged children
Organized, proactive and comfortable making decisions independently, including when one parent is traveling
A collaborative approach with your rotation partner and the parents
Bay Area local, living within about a 3-hour drive of San Francisco. The family is not considering fly-in candidates.
Current CPR and First Aid certification, and TrustLine registration
Compensation and Benefits
$120,000 to $130,000 base salary, depending on experience
Potential to earn up to $170,000 with overtime
