Position Overview:
A private family expecting their first child via surrogate is seeking an experienced, calm, and highly professional Newborn Nanny to support them during the newborn stage beginning mid-June 2025.
The family's highest priority is overnight newborn support in Clovis, California from June 15 – July 15, 2025. There may be an opportunity to continue with the family in Anchorage, Alaska through August 31, 2025 if it is a mutual fit, though travel is not required and the June 15 – July 15 commitment is the primary need.
As first-time parents, the family is seeking a caregiver who is knowledgeable about newborn care, confident in providing guidance and reassurance, and able to create a calm, supportive overnight environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible, emotionally intelligent, health-conscious, and comfortable partnering with parents who are new to infant care.
Position Details:
Location
• Clovis, California (primary location)
• Potential travel to Anchorage, Alaska beginning July 15 (not required)
Schedule
• Overnight coverage required
• Typical schedule will fall between:
7:00 PM/10:00 PM – 8:00 AM/9:00 AM(or later for candidates interested in additional hours)
• Flexibility around the baby’s arrival date is highly appreciated
Duration
• June 15 – July 15, 2025 required
• Potential extension through August 31, 2025
Compensation
• $60/hour DOE
Living Arrangements
• Live-in or live-out options available depending on fit and logistics
The Family Is Open To:
• One dedicated caregiver for the full duration
• Multiple rotating night nannies sharing coverage
• Candidates traveling from elsewhere in California
• A longer-term fit if the relationship develops naturally
Primary Responsibilities:
• Full overnight newborn care
• Bottle preparation and bottle feeding
• Diapering, soothing, swaddling, and sleep support
• Maintaining a calm overnight routine
• Tracking feedings and sleep as requested
• Supporting and educating first-time parents as needed
• Maintaining excellent hygiene and minimizing newborn exposure risks
Additional Notes
• Baby will be exclusively bottle-fed approximately every two hours
• This is an active overnight position, and the family is seeking a caregiver who will remain awake and engaged throughout the shift
• The household has two very small hypoallergenic dogs
• The family values caregivers who are calm, adaptable, collaborative, and low-maintenance within a private home environment
Ideal Qualifications
• Extensive newborn experience required (0–3 months)
• Prior Newborn Care Specialist or overnight newborn nanny experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of newborn feeding, sleep, and developmental needs
• Calm, reassuring communication style
• CPR/First Aid certified
• Excellent professional references confirming newborn expertise
• Comfortable working in a discreet private home environment
• Flexible and adaptable to changing newborn timelines and family needs
Must be Trustline Certified
Must be local to the Bay Area.
