Newborn Care Specialist in SF (Pacific Heights)

3–6 Month Contract, April 2026!

Position Overview
A wonderful, first-time family in Pacific Heights is preparing to welcome their baby in April 2026 and is looking for an experienced Newborn Care Specialist to guide and support them through the first few months of parenthood. This is a short-term, live-in opportunity (3–6 months) for a seasoned professional who is both deeply knowledgeable in newborn care and sensitive to the needs of new parents adjusting to life with their infant.

The family is seeking someone who can balance expertise with warmth, offering practical support with feeding, sleep, and routine-setting, while also empowering the parents with confidence and reassurance.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Live-in coverage with approximately 18 hours on / 6 hours off daily, 7 days per week. Flexibility is a must! 

  • Contract length: 3 to 6 months 

  • International travel is required for this role, so a valid passport is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight and daytime newborn care, including feeding, soothing, diapering, and sleep conditioning

  • Support and guide breastfeeding, while respecting the family’s preferences and rhythms

  • Maintain logs of the baby’s feeding, sleep, and developmental progress

  • Offer insight and reassurance to first-time parents, knowing when to step in and when to give space

  • Ensure the nursery and baby’s environment remain safe, clean, and organized

  • Accompany the family on domestic and international travel 

Ideal Candidate

  • A career Newborn Care Specialist with 3–5+ years of professional experience

  • Certified in newborn care; postpartum doula and lactation support a plus

  • Calm, patient, and supportive with excellent communication skills

  • Adaptable to a live-in schedule with long shifts and flexible breaks

  • Confident supporting first-time parents and offering both education and encouragement

  • CPR and First Aid certified

  • Trustline Certified 

  • Willing to relocate for the right opportunity (private accommodations provided)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $55–$75/hour DOE

  • Guaranteed hours for the duration of the contract

  • Paid holidays ( such as Memorial Day, July 4th, etc.)

  • Private guest accommodations provided within the family’s home, with additional nursery accommodations during overnight care
