Full-Time Nanny & Family Assistant – Mill Valley
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced, career nanny with a deep passion for child development and family support. This is a long-term opportunity for a highly skilled, proactive, and nurturing professional to join a warm and welcoming family.
The role centers around providing exceptional care for a sweet, energetic, and curious toddler who will be 3 in June. The family is open to growing in the future and seeks a nanny who is open to the possibility of caring for an additional child in time.
Beyond childcare, this position includes family assistant responsibilities to help create a calm, structured, and engaging home environment. The family values a collaborative, respectful parenting approach and is looking for a nanny who is playful yet grounded, sets clear and loving boundaries, and is committed to fostering their child’s growth in alignment with the family’s values.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, approximately 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
One later evening shift weekly or biweekly (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
Guaranteed 35–40 hours/week
Start Date: Mid May 2025
Responsibilities:
Childcare & Development
Provide loving, engaged care for one toddler.
Encourage developmentally appropriate play, redirection, and emotional regulation.
Excited to research and co-plan meaningful, engaging activities with mom, ensuring a balance of structure and exploration.
Collaborate with parents on routines, boundaries, and discipline approaches.
Maintain a calm, patient presence and foster a warm and stimulating environment.
Family Assistant Support
Light tidying, dishes, grocery pick-up, errands, and administrative support.
Assist with scheduling, overseeing contractors, researching family-related needs.
Laundry to be done during nap times when time permits.
Occasional meal prep and organizational tasks.
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced with toddlers/preschoolers.
Familiar with Montessori, respectful parenting, and conscious discipline.
Calm, patient, and confident in setting loving boundaries.
Organized, proactive, and able to support busy working parents.
Comfortable working in a structured yet collaborative household.
Comfortable with parents working from home (The family respects privacy, and the nanny should be comfortable with their presence).
Open to driving duties as needed (errands, transporting child, etc.), with a safe, reliable car.
Loves to play—actively engages with the child through play, music (singing/instruments/dance), art, and creative activities.
Bonus: Knowledge of ASL is a plus! The family is interested in learning and incorporating ASL into their routine.
Flexible with travel (family occasionally travels, though it’s not required).
Trustline Certified.
Compensation & Benefits:

Additional Info:
The family is temporarily living in Mill Valley rental homes until October 2025 before moving into their permanent home, which is also in Mill Valley. All of their homes are just five minutes from Mill Valley’s downtown and library. They’re seeking a long-term nanny who can grow with them and become an extension of their parenting team.
